or perhaps a regulatory favor to be named later
with any institution or member of the press, and that would include opinion bloggers and podcasters of course, it could potentially represent a conflict of interest. And you know, he might be on to something here.
Tucked into a prospectus of metaphoricals and hypotheticals, Mr. Seegers raises a salient point. Even if there were no documented quid-pro-quo exchanges happening between a political entity and a docile, or even sycophantic, reporting desk; just the appearance of this type of impropriety calls the ethics of the entire relationship into question.
Now, if CCS was a metaphorical outlet of say, Carpenter media, known for our sound publishing of local interest articles, we might be forced to find the reporting opportunities in a county commissioner candidate openly hostile to an independent press.
It seems even county fair advertising in the local paper is going to get it’s column pulled when publishing under a Seegers commissioner budget. Will any future media contracts get redirected to loyalist opinion bloggers and their podcasting platforms, or simply erased from the county ledger entirely? Only time will tell, but one thing CCS has already learned is that when Jake Seegers declares his latest safari is going to be an eradication hunting trip through your neighborhood, maybe it’s time to stop grazing on ribbon cutting ceremonies, and start looking around you.
He's worried about swag? Has he ever heard of employee moral? And that fun boosts it. HTAF would he propose the fair be advertised so it can be supported and enjoyed? I've never known someone as ignorant and arrogant.
